- Katie, could you introduce yourself and tell us a little about who you are?
- Hello, my name is Katie Deegan, I’m 19 years old and I’m proud to represent Dublin, Ireland. I currently work in emergency medicine, which has taught me the importance of compassion, resilience, and staying calm under pressure. Outside of work, I’m passionate about fitness, pageantry, and modelling, as they allow me to challenge myself, build confidence, and express my creativity. I’m honoured to be part of Miss Europe Continental and excited to represent Ireland while meeting inspiring women from around the world.
- What are three words that best describe your personality?
– I would describe myself as confident, compassionate, and driven, with a poised, fearless, and inspiring presence. These qualities reflect how I approach both life and opportunity. I believe in carrying myself with purpose, staying true to my values, and using my voice to uplift others where I can. For me, growth comes from resilience and kindness, and I always strive to bring both strength and grace into everything I do.
III. What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
– A fun fact most people don’t know about me is that I thrive under pressure — I actually perform at my best when I’m challenged, as it pushes me to stay focused and deliver my strongest work.
- What inspired you to take part in Miss Europe Continental?
– What inspired me to take part in Miss European Continental is the opportunity to challenge myself on a new stage while representing Ireland with pride. I was drawn to the pageant because it celebrates confidence, individuality, and growth, and I wanted to push myself outside my comfort zone while developing both personally and professionally. For me, it’s about more than competition — it’s about using the platform to grow, connect with others, and make the most of every opportunity that comes with it.
- What message would you like to share through your participation in this pageant?
- Through my participation in Miss European Continental, I would like to share the message that women can succeed in any industry, even those traditionally seen as male-dominated, including the world of emergency medicine. Strength, ambition, and capability are not defined by gender, and women can lead, achieve, and excel while still embracing their femininity and individuality. I want to show that empowerment is about being confident in who you are — and that you don’t have to choose between being strong, successful, and beautiful; you can be all of those at once.
- What is your biggest dream?
– My biggest dream is to become successful in a way that allows me to help others reach their potential too. I want to use my voice and platform to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention, and to encourage more open conversations around these issues. Ultimately, I hope to be known not just for what I achieve, but for the positive impact I can make in people’s lives — especially in helping those who feel unheard to feel supported, seen, and understood.
VII. Where do you see yourself in five years?
- In five years, I see myself continuing to grow both personally and professionally, building a career that challenges me and allows me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I hope to be working in a field where I can help others, particularly in raising awareness around mental health and suicide prevention, while also developing myself within the world of emergency medicine. I see myself using my platform to inspire others, especially young women, to believe in their potential and pursue their goals with confidence and purpose.
VIII. What personal or professional goals are you currently working toward?
– At the moment, I am working towards both personal and professional goals that challenge me and help me grow. Professionally, I am focused on building a pathway towards working in emergency medicine, with a particular interest in HEMS in the UK, as I am passionate about high-pressure, lifesaving environments where I can make a real difference. Personally, I am developing my confidence through pageantry, which has helped me grow in self-belief, communication, and presence. Alongside this, I am also committed to helping and inspiring others, especially in encouraging confidence, resilience, and self-worth, so that people feel empowered to believe in themselves and their potential.
- What does success mean to you?
– To me, success is not just about personal achievement, but about making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. It means building a life where I am proud of how far I’ve come, while also using my experiences, voice, and opportunities to help and uplift people around me. True success is creating impact, inspiring change, and staying grounded in kindness, purpose, and integrity along the way.
- Why should people support you in this competition? What message would you like to leave for everyone watching and supporting you today?
- People should support me in this competition because I am not only here to represent myself, but to represent a message of resilience, ambition, and purpose. I am passionate about personal growth, empowering others, and using my journey to raise awareness around important issues such as mental health and suicide prevention. I want to show that with determination and self-belief, you can pursue your goals in any field, including those like emergency medicine that are often seen as challenging or male-dominated, while still staying true to who you are. My message to everyone watching and supporting me today is to believe in yourself, even when things feel difficult or out of reach. Never underestimate your potential or the impact you can have on others. Stay kind, stay driven, and remember that your voice and your story matter.
- Finally, which message you would like to leave for our future Misses who will
join you in the next edition?
– To the future Misses who will join me in the next edition, my message is to believe in yourself fully from the very beginning. This experience will challenge you, grow you, and shape you in ways you may not expect, but embrace every moment of it. Be authentic, stay grounded, and never lose sight of your purpose beyond the crown.
If I am fortunate enough to win, I want to use this title as more than recognition — I want to lead by example. I want to show that with hard work, resilience, and self-belief, you can step into any space with confidence and make a real impact. My hope is that every future Miss sees this journey not just as a competition, but as a platform to grow, inspire, and empower others.
