Let’s read the interview of our Miss Cornelia:
‘’My name is Cornelia Berne and I am proudly representing Sweden. I am studying International Business Management with a focus on Economics and Finance. I am passionate about connecting business with purpose and finding ways to create meaningful and lasting impact.
In my spare time, I love travelling, spending time with friends, and working with Wale Wale, a youth organisation in Nairobi that supports education and creative development for young people. My best quality is that I am dedicated and genuine. When I believe in something, I give it my full energy. My biggest flaw is that I sometimes take on too much at once, but I see it as part of my ambition and curiosity for life.
My biggest inspirations are my parents. They have shown me everything I know about strength, kindness, and determination. They have always supported me in achieving everything I want and encouraged me to dream big while staying humble and true to myself.
Living in Kenya and joining Wale Wale truly changed my perspective. Being able to help hand in hand, see the impact directly, and inspire others to help me help was an experience that shaped who I am today. Seeing how much education and creativity can empower young people motivated me to continue using my skills to give back. I have also always identified deeply with being a big sister, which has taught me patience, responsibility, and the importance of setting an example. Both experiences have marked me in different but equally meaningful ways, showing me that success feels most fulfilling when it also helps others.
For me, happiness is feeling balanced and surrounded by good people who bring out the best in me. It is waking up with purpose, doing things that challenge and inspire me, and ending the day feeling proud of who I am becoming. Happiness is also about appreciating the small moments in life, like laughter with friends or a quiet walk by the sea, and knowing that I am growing while staying true to myself.
What is the phrase or quote you will never forget? Why?
“Treat others the way you want to be treated.”
I have always heard this since I was little, and it has guided how I live my life. It reminds me that kindness and respect go a long way, and that the way we treat people says the most about who we are.
I feel incredibly grateful and excited. It is an honour to represent Sweden and to be part of something that celebrates confidence, culture, and individuality. For me, this is more than a competition. It is a journey of growth, connection, and empowerment.
Fashion is self-expression. It allows you to show who you are without having to explain it. I love that fashion gives people the freedom to be creative, confident, and completely themselves.
In ten years, I see myself doing impactful work that creates positive change and helps others reach their potential. Whether through business or social projects, I want my work to make a real difference.
My wish would be for every child to have access to education and equal opportunities. I truly believe that education can change lives and build a better future for everyone.’’
