I’m Nerea Igea and I’m 19 years old. I am Spanish and although I live and am from Navarre I am going to represent the Canary Islands.
– What have been the most significant moments in your life?
My life has a lot to tell. A year ago I lost my father and my world completely collapsed but thanks to how he had taught me, I decided to move forward and fight for my dreams. When I was little I did ballet and I loved classical dance. He also played the piano. I grew up and I put those things aside so I could dedicate my time to my studies. As I have already told you for a year, my life is different, but with this I want to make you all see that whatever happens in our lives we have to move forward and fight for our dreams. I got mine today and I’m sure you’ll get yours tomorrow.
– How would you describe yourself in three adjectives?
With three adjectives I would describe myself and I have it very clear. I would describe myself as a vitamin person, since I am a very nice person and that is what I give off to others. I would also say that I am a very generous person, since I like to share all the good I get with my people. And finally I would describe myself as a faithful person, faithful to everything I love, to everything that inspires me and to everything that fulfils me inside.
– Have you had any role models or anyone who inspired you in your life choices?
Without a doubt, the best reference I have had in this life was my father. He always taught me to do things with caution, with discipline, without arrogance, and above all with a lot of love.
– When did you realize you wanted to enter the fashion world?
I have always liked putting on makeup, dressing well, dancing in front of the mirror, imagining that one day many people would see me. Recently I was lucky that two professional photographers wanted to collaborate with me and give me a photo shoot. One of them encouraged me and I listened to him and that inner girl who screamed at me so much that I wanted to parade on a catwalk.
– How would you define beauty today?
I would define beauty as something very subjective. All bodies are art and everyone must show off with the same pride. Beauty is knowing how to take it.
– It’s your first time in an international competition: what emotions are you feeling?
I’m very excited to be able to participate in an international fashion contest. It has been my dreams since I was little. Putting on my mother’s shoes that were six sizes bigger than mine, but I still kicked my whole room. It’s a unique feeling and I plan to enjoy it to the fullest.
– What does it mean to you to participate in an international beauty contest?
For me, participating in an international beauty contest is something very important. I think it can be the beginning of a great future, because above all I don’t lack desire.
– What are your expectations from participating in Miss Europe Continental?
My main expectations are to enjoy the experience, meet people, get to know brands, meet photographers, meet designers, meet stylists, etc. But above all, to promote myself on my way to the fashion world.
– What is your biggest dream?
My biggest dream is to parade at Fashion Week.
– Thank you for your time Nerea and for sharing something about yourself with the Miss Europe Continental community. See you soon in Naples.
