- You are on the official team of Fashion Designers of Miss Europe Continental Edition 12. How does it feel to be part of such a dynamic and established international team?
I am extraordinarily excited to be part of this team; I am especially thrilled to be working with people from all over the world. Having not done anything like this in the past, it will be fun to do something on such a big scale with so many different creatives. I am looking forward to seeing it all come together and viewing the contestants on stage will be an incredible experience!
- Tell us about your Creativity and Passion: a) What do you draw the most inspiration for your creations from? b) How would you describe the woman you draw for?
- a) When getting inspiration, I find that most of the time I look to people themselves. I really enjoy looking into parts of peoples lives that happen every day, parts of their routines, items they carry in their bags, different phrases that people can relate to. I love to challenge myself to interpret these elements into various parts of the design process, from the print on the fabric to the shapes I use when pattern cutting.
- b) The JAZZY D’S woman is fun, yet sophisticated. With my work I always try to create garments that women feel powerful in, as well as making others smile when seeing people wear them. I have a big focus on colour and shape, and a woman’s body works beautifully to work with the fabric to create interesting chic silhouettes.
- Tell us about your future plans.
My future plans are focused on sustainability and professional growth; I plan to expand my knowledge on textiles and understand more about sustainable practices that I can put into place. I will then use these within my business ventures and match them to my fashion designs, helping to create a more friendly industry. I also have a big focus on collaboration, which Miss Europe Continental will be a great experience of.
- What advice would you give to an aspiring fashion designer who dreams of pursuing this career?
To others dreaming of pursuing a career in fashion design, I would say to believe in yourself. You will be the only person that will be there for yourself 100% of the time and without self-belief it may be very difficult. It is such a great career to work towards, with so many amazing people to meet and collaborate with throughout your time. Fashion is such an important form of creative expression!
- What do you expect from this experience at Miss Europe Continental?
At Miss Europe Continental, I expect this experience will be an inspiring insight into international design and beauty across all areas. I hope to meet a wide range of people who I will have interesting conversation with. I look forward to the day of the show and seeing everything come together, with all the beauty on stage and on the red carpet. I feel it will be a fantastic couple of days!
