Hi! My name is Ellen Lydia Waldau and I’m 22 years old. I have a strong passion for helping and connecting with people, which has led me to pursue opportunities where I can make a positive impact on others. I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to represent Sweden in Miss Europe Continental. I view this as a significant step in my personal and professional growth.
Describe yourself in 3 worlds.
I would describe myself as helpful, social, and someone who genuinely cares about others. These qualities are a big part of who I am and how I interact with the people around me.
When did your interest in modelling start? Have you always wanted to do this or is it a recently born passion?
Fashion and modeling haven’t always been an obvious path for me. It’s something I discovered recently, and it quickly became a new interest. At first, I wasn’t sure if it was for me, but the more I learned, the more inspired I became.
Now, I see fashion as a creative way to express myself, and modeling has helped me grow in confidence. Even though it’s a new journey, it’s one I’m excited to explore.
Do you have a source of inspiration?
My family is my biggest source of inspiration. They always support me, believe in me, and motivate me to keep going, even when things get tough. My parents have taught me the value of hard work and kindness, and my siblings inspire me with their strength and determination.
No matter what, I know I can rely on them. Their love and support give me the courage to chase my dreams, and for that, I’m truly grateful.
In your opinion, what characteristics must a girl have to win a beauty contest? Is it enough just to be aesthetically the most beautiful?
To me, beauty is so much more than how someone looks. True beauty comes from within – from kindness, confidence, and how we treat others. A beautiful person is someone who makes others feel seen, valued, and loved.
Looks may fade, but a good heart, a warm smile, and a caring soul leave a lasting impression. That’s the kind of beauty I admire the most.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you have hobbies?
My favorite hobbies are cross-country and alpine skiing. I enjoy being outside in the snow and staying active. Cross-country skiing is peaceful and helps me build endurance, while alpine skiing is fast and exciting. Both give me energy, clear my mind, and make me feel truly happy.
Tell us about your future projects.
I want to study Human Resources because I enjoy helping people and making a positive difference. In HR, I can support others in their work, create a good environment, and help solve problems. My goal is to learn how to guide and support both individuals and teams so that everyone can grow and succeed. By studying HR, I hope to help more people in meaningful ways.
