Joining the official Fashion Designers Team of Miss Europe Continental is an extraordinary honor and a defining moment in my career. It is truly a dream come true to be recognized as a designer for such a prestigious international platform. Whilst feeling deeply honored I’m even more inspired by the chance to dress women who represent strength, resilience, and empowerment. Being able to contribute my vision to an event that celebrates excellence and beauty on a global stage is something I will always cherish. - If you had to describe your style in three words, which would you choose and why?
Avant-Garde. Vibrant. Eclectic. I would describe my design aesthetic as avant-garde, vibrant, and eclectic. My work is avant-garde because I enjoy pushing the boundaries of traditional fashion through unconventional silhouettes, deconstructed construction, and unexpected combinations of materials. It’s vibrant because I’m drawn to bold color palettes and expressive details that evoke emotion and celebrate confidence. And it’s eclectic because I love blending different textures, cultural influences, and artistic elements to create garments that feel unique and tell a story. My goal is to design pieces that are more than just clothing—they’re wearable art that empowers women to embrace their individuality. - What is the most unusual source of inspiration that has influenced one of your creations?
One of my most unique sources of inspiration has always been my grandmother’s home. For decades, it has been a place where generations of immigrants and first-generation Mexican Americans like myself have gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories, traditions, and memories. Those moments taught me that identity is layered, heritage is living, and beauty is found in the stories we carry. I approach design as a way of preserving those narratives, creating garments that celebrate identity, resilience, and the beauty of cultural legacy through a modern, artistic lens. - Is there a garment or collection that you consider the true expression of your creative identity?
My three-piece collection created in 2023 exploring my heritage and cultural identity is the most authentic representation of my creative voice. It was a journey of self-discovery where memories, traditions, and personal history became the foundation for my designs. The result was not simply a collection of garments, but a series of sculptural works and living paintings—each piece carrying its own story, emotion, and cultural significance. I explored the relationship between color, texture, and materiality through sustainable practices, using hand beading, sewing, and dyeing techniques to bring each piece to life. These artisanal processes allowed me to connect with the craftsmanship and traditions that have been carried through generations while transforming them into a modern couture expression. - What message do you hope to communicate through your designs?
Through my designs, I strive to create more than just garments; I strive to create pieces that tell a story and allow the person wearing them to feel truly seen, inspired, and empowered. Whether it is everyday fashion or high-fashion couture, I believe clothing should be a reflection of individuality and imagination. Fashion has no rules, no limits, and no boundaries; it should be whatever allows you to express who you truly are. Through every design I create and every person I have the privilege of connecting with, my hope is to inspire confidence, encourage individuality, and remind people of the power they hold within themselves. I believe the most beautiful thing a person can wear is the confidence that comes from embracing who they are.
6. How do you think this international experience can contribute to your professional growth?
This international experience represents far more than a professional milestone; it’s an opportunity to evolve creatively and expand my perspective as a designer. Being surrounded by other designers, artists, and extraordinary women from around the world will challenge me to see fashion through a broader lens while exposing me to new ideas, techniques, and cultural influences. As a Mexican American designer, it’s especially meaningful to share my heritage and creative vision on an international stage. I hope this experience opens the door to more opportunities within the world of high fashion, allowing me to collaborate with global creatives, present my work to new audiences, and continue building a career that bridges artistry, culture, and couture.
