Uyioghosa Oghagbon at Miss Europe Continental

Hello! My name is Uyioghosa Oghagbon, I’m 22 years old and I’m proudly representing Nigeria at Miss Europe Continental. I’m a model who loves fashion, creativity, and inspiring others to believe in themselves.

Can you tell us how you started your modeling career? Becoming a model has been your dream since you were a child?
Yes, it has always been my dream. I started modeling when I was invited to take part in a fashion show in Germany. That experience made me realize how much I loved being in front of the camera and expressing myself through fashion. From there, I decided to take modeling seriously and keep growing.

Are there any models or public figures who inspire you?
Naomi Campbell inspires me because she is strong, confident, and opened doors for many African models. I also admire Winnie Harlow for her courage and uniqueness, and outside modeling, my mother for her grace and leadership.

Do you think the fashion industry is becoming more inclusive and diverse?
Yes, it is improving. We now see more models from different backgrounds, body types, and cultures. There is still more to be done, but I’m happy to see the industry celebrating real beauty in all its forms.

How do you handle pressure or stress during high-profile events or castings?
I stay calm by praying, breathing deeply, and reminding myself to enjoy the moment. I focus on doing my best and not comparing myself to anyone else. Staying positive really helps me handle pressure.

How important is collaboration on set, and how do you build a good rapport with the creative team?
Teamwork is very important. Everyone on set — the photographer, stylist, makeup artist, and model — plays a big role. I always stay polite, professional, and open to ideas. When we all work together with respect, great results come naturally.

What advice would you give to young girls who dream of becoming models?
Believe in yourself and never give up. Stay true to who you are, be patient, and keep improving. Rejection is part of the journey, but it doesn’t define you. Confidence and hard work will always make you stand out.

How does your family feel about your participation in this beauty pageant? How do you feel about representing Nigerian beauty on an international stage?
My family is very proud and supportive. Representing Nigeria means so much to me — it’s a chance to show the world the beauty, culture, and strength of Nigerian women. I feel honored and excited to carry my country’s name with pride.

Tell us about your future project.
I want to keep growing as an international model and also inspire young girls who want to follow the same path. In the future, I’d love to start a project that supports and mentors upcoming models in Africa, helping them find confidence and opportunities.
