1. Let’s start with the basics: can you tell us your full name, your age, where you were born, and where you currently live?
I’m Lia Kouroumali, and I proudly represent Greece. I use my voice and actions to inspire confidence, kindness, and fearless self-expression. I’m a 25-year-old ambitious woman, born on the beautiful island of Cyprus, currently living in Larnaca, but my roots and heart are proudly Greek.
2. Lia, how do you feel about representing Greece at Miss Europe Continental?
Honestly, I feel so thrilled and deeply honoured to represent Greece at Miss Europe Continental. It’s such a special opportunity to share my love for my country and show the world the modern, dynamic, and authentic spirit of Greek women—strong, confident, and full of grace. I’m really proud to carry a piece of Greece with me on this stage.
3. You live in Cyprus but have Greek roots. How do these two cultures intertwine in your life?
I feel truly honoured and deeply proud to represent Greece on an international stage. This opportunity allows me to unite my love for my country with my passion for showcasing the modern, dynamic, and authentic spirit of Greek women—strong, compassionate, and full of grace. Greece and Cyprus together form two halves of my identity. I was raised with Greek values and Cypriot warmth—Greece gives me the fire of creativity and passion, while Cyprus fills me with warmth and harmony. Together, they’ve shaped in me the perfect balance between tradition and a modern, forward-looking spirit.
4. You work as a babysitter. What do you like most about working with children?
What I love most about working with children is their purity and imagination. Every day with them is unique, filled with love, laughter, and honesty. I don’t see myself just as a babysitter—it’s more than a job; I’m their guardian, and often they teach me as much as I teach them. Being with them inspires me to see life in a simpler, kinder way, to live in the moment, and to find joy in the little things.
5. Do you think working with children has taught you something about yourself?
Absolutely. Working with children has taught me patience, empathy, and discipline. I’ve discovered the power of communicating with love and respect, and how caring for others is one of the strongest forms of inner strength. Every child is unique, and in them, I see a reflection of our own inner child—a part of us that longs to be seen, understood, and loved. These lessons guide me in all areas of life and inspire me to continue being a voice for others, encouraging them to embrace their full potential
6. You’re a strong, independent girl. What does “independence” mean to you?
To me, independence means trusting your instincts, standing tall on your own, and never letting anyone tell you your dreams are impossible. I chose to pursue what I am truly passionate about while running my own company. I challenge myself every day to grow, achieve more, and become the best version of myself, never letting fear or others’ opinions limit me, while remaining humble. I am always seeking new opportunities to develop my talents and knowledge. Independence is living life on your own terms, carving your own path, and chasing your dreams with passion, determination, and discipline.
7. How do you manage to maintain a balance between work, personal life, and preparation for the competition?
I manage balance through organization and self-discipline. One of my strengths is that I truly enjoy being productive, which is why I chose to be self-employed—it allows me to design my own schedule. I wake up every day at six o’clock and follow a routine that includes my work, my hobbies, and preparation for the competition. By the time I finish my work, I don’t feel exhausted—I feel energized and excited to do the things I love. Of course, some days move a bit slower, but progress is still progress, and that’s what matters. I always leave room for rest and personal moments. True balance comes from taking care of your mind, body, and soul equally.
8. Is there anything you hope to learn or discover during this experience at Miss Europe Continental?
Absolutely! I traveled all alone to Italy to discover new strengths I didn’t know I had and to challenge myself in ways I never imagined. I hope to develop my modeling skills, fully express my confidence, and connect with incredible women from all over Europe. This experience is also an opportunity to expand my horizons, be inspired by others’ journeys, and gain knowledge that will help me make a positive impact—not just for myself, but for those around me
9. If you had to describe your personality in three words, what would they be?
Aw, that’s a very interesting question! I would say fearless, compassionate, and ambitious.
10. And finally, what is your biggest dream for the future?
My biggest dream is to live a life that inspires others—to use my voice and experiences to empower women and children to believe in themselves and never limit their potential. I want to create opportunities that encourage growth, confidence, and self-expression. I strive to experience every moment of life as if it were my last, embracing every opportunity fully, and never settling for anything less than what truly fulfills me. Above all, I want to keep evolving, learning, and becoming the best version of myself, making a positive impact on the world around me, and making the little girl I once was proud
