The Beauty of the Soul: Let’s talk with Yvonn Alemán Graterol

My name is María Yvonn Alemán Graterol, I am 30 years old, and I have the honor of representing Venezuela at Miss Europe Continental Supranational Edition. I am from that country where the sun, the sea, and some of the most beautiful women in the world are born. I consider myself an authentic, profound woman, with great determination, elegance, and a sensitivity that I cultivate both inside and out. I believe in the power of humility and the silent strength of a well-defined purpose.
– Your figure is surrounded by an aura of beauty and femininity. How important is it for you to take care of your image?
Beauty, for me, is something deeply meaningful. It is a reflection of the soul. The image we project is our first letter of introduction and conveys much more than what we say. That’s why I strive to reflect confidence, health, approachability, youth, and elegance. But above all, I’ve worked on my inner beauty: I’ve seen a psychologist, cultivated my emotions, my habits, and my beliefs. Because I’m convinced that our appearance comes from within. If we believe in ourselves, we reflect it. For me, taking care of my image also means taking care of my soul.
– What are you passionate about outside of fashion and entertainment?
I’m deeply passionate about human development. I love growing as a person and helping others discover their potential. I’m interested in the connection between mind, body, and emotions. I’m a spiritual and very analytical woman; I love studying who we are and why we act the way we do. I believe understanding ourselves is the first step to a more fulfilling and peaceful life.
– What values most represent you as a woman and as Miss?
Humility, authenticity, respect, determination, and compassion. I believe a true Miss not only shines on the runway, but leaves a mark on every soul she touches. Silent work, elegance that doesn’t need flaunting, and a beauty born of purpose represent me. My motto sums it all up:
True greatness makes no noise. I shine in silence, with humility and purpose.✨
– What makes you most proud of your country?
What makes me most proud of Venezuela is our human warmth. We are kind, helpful, talented, and deeply united people. Wherever there is a Venezuelan, there is a smile, there is brotherhood, there is solidarity. And, of course, our country is a natural and cultural gem. I love our customs, our way of speaking, of eating, and of family life. Being Venezuelan is a source of pride that accompanies me wherever I go.
How did your passion for beauty pageants begin?
Since I was a child, my family would gather around the television to watch Miss Venezuela with the same excitement with which others watch a soccer final. I remember sitting on the floor, watching those elegant and admired women, dreaming of being there one day. My family always told me, “You’re going to be there.” And I, tall, slim, and with many dreams, believed it. Today it’s an honor to have turned that childhood dream into a reality that fills those who always believed in me with pride.
– What was the hardest part of preparing for the national competition you already participated in?
The biggest challenge was believing in myself. I competed with very prepared girls, and at first, I felt like I lacked training. But the hardest part wasn’t technical, it was emotional. I remember Mr. Prince Julio César, an eminence in the beauty world, telling all my classmates that I was the Miss Universe who was going to win. He said that even the beauty czar, Mr. Osmel Sousa, believed it too. But he added something that left a mark on me: “The only one who doesn’t believe it is you.” Since then, I’ve worked hard on my confidence, on discovering my identity, on knowing what I want to reflect. And today I can say that, although I continue to grow, I’ve already begun to believe in myself as the woman I am: confident, elegant, and authentic.
– How are you preparing to represent Venezuela on an international stage as Miss Europe Continental?
I’m preparing with total dedication and focus. I work daily on my runway, public speaking, languages, and my physical and emotional health. But beyond technical training, I’m honing my identity as a woman. I want to stand on that stage not only as a representative of Venezuela, but as an example of what it means to shine from within, with purpose, with elegance, and with great humanity. I’m giving my all, because I know I represent much more than a band.
– Is there a particular message you want to bring on the Miss Europe Continental stage?
Yes. I want to remind you that a woman’s true power lies not only in her beauty, but in her ability to inspire. Being Miss isn’t just about walking gracefully; it’s about leaving a mark, speaking from the heart, and connecting. My message is that a woman can be beautiful, strong, sensitive, and a leader all at the same time. We can shine quietly, with humility and purpose.
– Do you have a dream in your drawer?
Yes, I have several. One of my biggest dreams is to become a guide for others, a kind of life coach who can help people discover their potential, improve their relationship with themselves and with life. I would like to give talks, share emotional tools, talk about self-love, success, and spirituality. And I also have an artistic dream: to be a singer. I would love to one day give concerts and convey emotions through music. Maybe it’s not for now, but God willing, its time will come. I keep dreaming big.
Thanks for your time dear Yvonn, see you soon in Naples!!
