Running toward the crown: meet Miss Portugal, Iara

1. Can you tell me something about yourself?

My name is Iara, I’m Portuguese, and I’m proud to be representing Portugal in this amazing international experience. I carry with me the spirit, warmth, and beauty of my country wherever I go.

2 .If you should describe yourself in three words, what would they be?

I’d say I’m driven, vibrant, and reliable-I’m the kind of person who loves to experience new things and empower others along the way.

3. What is your best quality and your worst flaw?

My best quality is definitely my resilience-I bounce back stronger from challenges. My worst flaw? I can be a bit impatient with myself, especially when I’m learning something new. But I’m working on giving myself more grace.

4. What do you do in your life?

Right now, I’m juggling several passions-I’m deeply involved in fitness and personal development, and I’m also exploring new creative paths that challenge me mentally and emotionally. Life is too short not to go all in!

5. You’re very young and you will attend an international show. What prompted you to participate?

I’ve always believed that stepping outside of your comfort zone is where real growth happens. When the opportunity came up, I thought, “Why not?” I want to inspire others to be brave enough to take their shot, even if it feels scary.

6. What do you expect from this experience?

I’m hoping to grow-not just as a model or representative of my country-but as a human being. I want to connect with people from different cultures, share stories, and learn from the diversity of this beautiful event.

7. What do you like most about beauty pageants?

The empowerment. There’s something magical about a space where women come together to celebrate not just outer beauty, but strength, intelligence, and individuality.

8. How did your parents or friends react to this new experience? Do they support you?

They were super excited-and maybe even more nervous than I was! I’m lucky to have a strong support system. My friends keep me grounded, and their encouragement means everything to me.

9. I saw that you are a sporty person and that you train constantly. Do you think that this will help you during the preparation for Miss Europe Continental?

Absolutely! Training keeps me disciplined and focused, and it gives me mental clarity-which is just as important as physical preparation. Plus, it teaches me to push through even when it gets tough.

10. Do you have a secret dream? If you could make one wish come true, what would it be?

There are so many beautiful things in life to choose from that sometimes I can’t decide-part of me dreams of becoming an actress, a model, or even a creative in the arts. But if I really had to choose one, it would be to become a successful businesswoman-someone who builds something meaningful and lasting. And through that, I’d love to create a platform that supports young women in finding their voice, building confidence, and going after their dreams, no matter where they come from.

11. Do you have a personal motto? Or a quote that you like and represents you?

Yes! “Don’t fear change-run toward it.” It reminds me that the most powerful moments in life often begin where comfort ends. Change helps me grow, and I welcome it with open arms.

12. How do you see yourself in ten years?

In ten years, I hope to be doing meaningful work-maybe running my own business, mentoring others, and still taking on exciting challenges that scare me a little. Hopefully with a passport full of stamps and a heart full of memories!

13.Would you like to say something to the other participants or to our readers?

To all the participants: let’s make this unforgettable-cheering for each other is the best kind of competition. And to the readers: thank you for being part of this journey. Whatever your dream is, chase it-you never know how far it can take you.
