From Stage to Business: The Ambitious Future of Naribe Diaz Vilchez

Hello, my name is Naribe Diaz Vilchez, I’m 20 years old, I’m from Antofagasta and I’m representing Chile. I’m currently studying business administration with a logistic focus.

– How did you get started in the world of beauty pageants?

I started when I was very little, I got into a modeling agency when I was 7 because it was something beautiful for me. I also used to go with my dad to Santiago to some hair salon shows, and suddenly, I had the chance the be “the hair model” and from that day, different opportunities came across and I started to be into  the real model world, traveling to Santiago and even Colombia

– What do you feel when you walk on a stage? Do you always feel at ease in front of the camera?

It’s very complicated to put  into words what I feel when I walk on the stage, it is a mix of happiness, excitement and adrenally, it is really a unique feeling that nothing else compares to it, I deeply enjoy it despite the whole pre-show nervousness and mess. Well, if I say that it has always been easy to be in front of the camera it would be a lie, it was something that I had to work really hard on it, I used to be very shy, I even had some panic attacks, so, I had to work really hard on myself and my confidence until get where I am nowadays

– You’re only 20, but I think you’re already enterprising. How do you see yourself in 10 years?

Regarding my future, in 10 years more I would love to see myself having my own business related with skin care and make up, having my own brand is a big dream that I’m currently work on, and that is why I’m studying business administrations. I also dream about opening my own modeling academy, in order to teach and help others with my knowledge on beauty pageants.

– Is there a Miss/model who inspires you?

Well, honestly I’m not a person who need to get inspired by others in order to achieve a goal, I think that I’m my own inspiration, I love the hard work I put into this, how I have learnt from my mistakes and get better day by day. But, if I have to mention a model that I admire for her role and businesses is Kendal Jenner.

– We know that in your country you participated in an international beauty contest, did this involve you in any support activities?

Well, while I was participating in the international beauty contest I had the chance to be part of a social project, an oncology foundation in which we donated a wig to a woman who needed it. This project inspired me to keep helping and being part of the change so, in Chile I got into a foundation called ” dona un pedacito de ti” in this foundation we encourage people to donate hair to create wigs for those who have lost their hair due to chemio.

– How do you plan to approach the Miss Europe Continental final to be held in Italy? And What do you hope to find in Miss Europe Continental?

My plan to get into the final in Italy is to stay focus on my goal, being disciplined and trust on my skills, but more importantly, give my 100% all the time, I will work hard to put Chile’s name on the top, Regarding of what I hope to experience there, I’m very optimistic about this, I hope to live a nice, nourishing and friendly experience, a good logistics and organization. I really have high hopes on this pageant, and finally I hope to find new opportunities for modeling and being part of this beautiful world.

– Tell me three things you can’t live without

OMG, it’s an hard question.. I think that I can’t live without my family, I also can’t picture myself without my pets which are part of my family too, and I can’t live without Antofagasta,  I’m very antofagastina, I love my city and its beauty, it is my place, my home and I love the freedom it has given to me.
