Nina Ketels: Facing Fears and Chasing Fashion Dreams

My name is Nina Ketels, I’m 20 years old and will be turning 21 in August and I’m proud to be representing Belgium at Miss Europe Continental this year. Although I don’t have any modeling experience yet, I’ve always been passionate about fashion and beauty. I love expressing myself through style and have always admired the confidence that modeling represents. Being part of Miss Europe Continental feels like an incredible first step into a world I’ve always dreamed of exploring.

What do you expect from the Miss Europe Continental?

I hope Miss Europe Continental will be the opportunity that launches me into the modeling world. I’m looking forward to learning, growing, and connecting with all kinds of inspiring people. More than anything, I hope this experience gives me the confidence to start building a career in fashion and modeling.

What are your plans for the future?

In the future, I’d love to pursue modeling more seriously and explore opportunities both locally and internationally. I’m also really drawn to creative industries like content creation and fashion design. Ultimately, I want to build a career that allows me to express myself, grow as a person, and hopefully inspire others to follow their own paths, especially if they’ve ever doubted themselves like I have in the past.

Is there a moment in your life that has particularly marked you?

A big part of my personal journey has been dealing with social anxiety. For a long time, it kept me from putting myself out there or going after things I really wanted. It’s been a challenge, but I’ve slowly worked on overcoming those fears and learning to trust myself more. Deciding to enter this pageant was a huge step for me, something I wouldn’t have imagined doing a few years ago. It marked a shift in how I see myself, and it’s reminded me that real growth starts when you face what scares you.

What advice would you like to share with other participants?

Be proud of yourself for showing up. Everyone is on their own unique journey, and comparison can take away from the joy of the experience. Focus on being the best version of you, and let that be enough. Believe in your worth, even if you’re just getting started. You never know how powerful it is just to take that first step.
