Hello, my name is Mai Muto, and I’m 36 years old from Kobe, Japan. It is a great honor to represent South Korea at Miss Europe Continental 2025.
During my university years, I studied abroad at Korea University, where I fell in love with the culture, people, and aesthetics of Korea. Since then, I have visited more than ten times and even travel there for skincare and beauty treatments.
Through this pageant, I wish to share the beauty and spirit of Korea with the world.
How has your experience in beauty pageants changed you on a personal level?
Participating in beauty pageants has been a journey of self-discovery. Through meeting inspiring people and professionals, I learned to believe in myself and embrace who I am. I used to be shy and afraid of standing out, but being on stage taught me that authenticity is the real beauty. This experience gave me the courage to follow my heart and the conviction that we all have the power to transform our own lives.
What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned from participating in other competitions?
I learned that it’s okay not to be perfect. Even the most beautiful and confident people have their own struggles. What matters most is being genuine, embracing imperfections, and expressing yourself with honesty and grace.
Has there been a challenging moment in your journey as a Miss? How did you overcome it?
During one competition, I became unwell, but the kindness of fellow contestants lifted my spirit. Their warmth and silent understanding reminded me that connection and compassion transcend language. The friendships I built through these experiences are truly priceless.
How is this new adventure at Miss Europe Continental different from your previous experiences?
My previous pageants were battles to discover myself. This time, Miss Europe Continental is about connecting that self with the world. Representing South Korea carries both pride and responsibility, and I aim to share its culture and beauty with confidence and sincerity.
What do you want to prove to yourself and to others by stepping onto an international stage?
I want to prove that life can always be transformed by your own hands. I’ve faced setbacks, career changes, and moments of despair, but every experience has shaped who I am today. Through my story, I wish to inspire others to believe that dreams are achievable, no matter where you start.
Do you have a specific goal you hope to achieve through this participation?
Of course, I aim to win, but more importantly, I want to inspire freedom and self-belief. If my journey can touch even one person’s heart and spark new hope, that will be my greatest achievement.
How do you mentally prepare for a big event like this?
My key to mental balance is staying true to myself. When I feel anxious, I talk with trusted friends or write in my journal to understand my emotions. As a daily trader, I also practice emotional control and calm decision-making—skills that help me stay centered before any big event.
What keeps you motivated during moments of fatigue or uncertainty?
My biggest motivation is the vision of my future self. I dream of having it all: beauty, freedom, wealth, love, and family and I believe it’s possible. Every time someone tells me, “Your post gave me strength,” it reminds me that my voice matters and keeps me moving forward.
Have you ever thought about combining your career as a Miss with charity or social projects?
Yes, absolutely. I aspire to support women who face economic or personal challenges. By teaching financial literacy and self-development, I hope to help them discover their unique value and create a brighter, independent future.
Do you have a personal ritual or lucky charm that you bring with you to every competition?
I never skip my five-minute arm workout before every pageant to make my dresses look their best. Beyond that, my greatest charm is my life experience itself—the tears, struggles, and victories that taught me I can overcome anything.
If you could describe your personality in three words, which ones would you choose?
Free-spirited, honest, and fearless.
How do you maintain balance between your personal life and your responsibilities as a Miss?
For me, there is no clear line between my personal life and my role as a Miss. My everyday journey trading, studying real estate, experiencing love and friendship—all reflect my message of “living freely.” I embrace every moment wholeheartedly, because each experience is a part of who I am.
